About Mount Etna

Mount Etna is Europe’s highest active volcano. From Nicolosi the road climbs through lava fields to the Rifugio Sapienza at about 1900 m, where the Giro d’Italia has finished several times.

In rampida you ride the route exactly as it lies on the road: the gradient reaches your trainer metre by metre, the scenery is built from real elevation data and OpenStreetMap. A pacer group can pull you along, and next time you race your own ghost.
