About Col d’Izoard
The Col d’Izoard (2360 m) is known for the Casse Déserte, a moonscape of scree and rock needles on the south side. From Briançon the road climbs through larch forest to the summit with its monument to Fausto Coppi and Louison Bobet.
In rampida you ride the route exactly as it lies on the road: the gradient reaches your trainer metre by metre, the scenery is built from real elevation data and OpenStreetMap. A pacer group can pull you along, and next time you race your own ghost.
