About Campo Imperatore
Campo Imperatore is the wide high plain at the Gran Sasso, the highest massif of the Apennines. From Fonte Cerreto the road climbs in hairpins and then crosses the open plain; the Giro has finished here several times.
In rampida you ride the route exactly as it lies on the road: the gradient reaches your trainer metre by metre, the scenery is built from real elevation data and OpenStreetMap. A pacer group can pull you along, and next time you race your own ghost.
