Ride your Strava route indoors

Export your Strava route as GPX, load it into rampida and ride it in 3D with real terrain on your smart trainer. Takes two minutes.

1. Get the file from Strava

  1. OpenOpen strava.com in a browser (the Strava app cannot export files).
  2. ExportRoute: “My Routes”, open the route, ⋯ → “Export GPX”. Activity: open it, ⋯ → “Export GPX” or “Export Original”.
  3. Tip“Export Original” often gives a .fit.gz file – rampida reads it directly, no need to unpack.

2. Ride it in rampida

  1. Open rampidaOpen rampida.com/app.html in Chrome or Edge and create a free account.
  2. Load the fileTap “Load GPX / FIT” on the home screen or simply drop the file onto the window. rampida snaps it to real roads and loads terrain, forests and buildings.
  3. RidePair your smart trainer and start. The trainer sets the gradient of the route, climbs are timed.

Good to know

  • Activities without GPS (e.g. indoor rides) have no route and cannot be ridden.
  • Finished rides in rampida can go back to Strava – as a FIT file or automatically with Pro.
  • Too long or a detour in it? Trim start and end or delete outliers in the route editor.

Strava is a trademark of its owner. rampida is independent. Menu labels at Strava may change.

FAQ

Do I need Strava subscription?

Not to export your own routes and activities. Creating routes may need a subscription depending on the feature.

Can I ride a Strava segment?

Yes, export an activity or route that contains it. rampida finds the climbs on the route itself and times you.

Do I need a smart trainer?

To ride, yes – any trainer with Bluetooth FTMS or a basic trainer with a power meter. Viewing and editing works without one.
